HOW I DO MY DRAWINGS
MY LOYALTY TO A PENCIL
I remember how my first love started: I was 5 when I saw my table mate holding one. After my parents finally agreed to let me have one I was overwhelmed, it wasn't anything fancy but it felt like owning a very first new phone. While I was crying at the math sheets in front of me, I would stopped after I realized what I was holding in my hand. I remember my elementary teacher would hit my hand for using them, they say it wasn't meant for drawings. As a kid I always wondered what was the rule, why was that. As long anything could release charcoal stains, why can't they be used for arts, especially when it's that comforting. It felt like forbidden love.
I gotten playful and couldn't stop owning more when I reach my teens, but eventually I find myself always sticking to one. Maybe it was the grip and the feeling I developed whenever I draw with it, the confidence level and reliability with it, it's far different from the spares which are used for long essays or complexing equations, my handwritings aren't any pretty even when I tried to be patience till the end, instead my sketches are, especially when I loosen myself more to it, which is the key I realize to every great drawings.

After entering a new phase I started only carrying one with me, the one and only one whenever I go, since unexpected ideas could happen anywhere anytime, I should never miss the opportunity to experience everything with it. Sadly, I couldn't truly make them go alive instantly. The endless scanning and adobe editing, I soon realize everything wasn't enough, I wasn't satisfy easily just like before, I know I wanted so much more than this.
Thus, I started moving on, sniff*. The upgrade begins after I purchased a digital one. Holding onto the old experiences (great memories with my mechanical), I'm currently improving myself with it in using the procreate app, where my drawings could get more faster, consistent and even alive when the animation assist mode is on.
I felt like I almost had full control of everything, but I know it wasn't there yet. What I am holding in my hand is important, but the concept and mind I am developing towards my love (the medium I'm using) is what changing the picture instead. There were never really downsides to things since everything is actually affected by our own mind. A good motivation, observation and imagination is what truly needed for pictures we want to truly come alive.
